On March 31, 2021, Precision Materials purchased HSM’s (Hickory Springs Manufacturing) wood fabricating division known as Blue Ridge Wood Products. The Blue Ridge facility is located in Hickory, NC, and is a processor of wood components for the bedding, furniture, and transportation industries. Precision Materials has entered into a strategic alliance with HSM to secure a long-term supply agreement to continue the production of fabricated wood components for HSM. Precision Materials will assume operations out of the Hickory location and no employees will be displaced. New Opening Announcement

Precision Materials is proud to announce the successful opening of its newest facility located in Ohatchee, Alabama. The 40,000 square foot facility located on 90 acres represents Phase 1 of a broader long-term plan to create a furniture cluster/processing facility that capitalizes on cost savings realized when raw material sources, processers, and end-users are geographically aligned.

Initial capabilities include cut-to-size, CNC routing, machining, and T-Nutting. We will allow future business opportunities to drive the installation of new machinery capabilities such as straight-line and contour edge-banding, UV finishing, etc.  Combined with our 2017 acquisition of Mid Atlantic Wood Products, we now have three processing facilities which have added substantial capacity to our processing capabilities. Precision Materials Acquires Mid-Atlantic Wood Products

Precision Materials (PMAT) is proud to announce the recent acquisition of Mid-Atlantic Wood Products (MAWP), a Taylorsville, N.C.-based manufacturing company. MAWP is a panel processor specializing in the manufacturing of quality furniture and cabinet components. Birthed in 1982, Mid-Atlantic has evolved into a full-service converter offering a wide range of products from stock panels to fully machined, prefinished components. Currently, Mid-Atlantic provides services to many established residential and office furniture manufacturers, contract furniture manufacturers, kitchen and bath cabinet manufacturers, and other related industries. All employees have been retained and we look forward to providing financial and strategic resources which will enable the company to grow and expand upon its 35-year history.

This acquisition is part of a broader strategy to strengthen our position in the panel-processing market by creating logistical and buying power efficiencies that translate into economic value, time value, and enhanced quality for our entire customer base. Consistent with this strategy, PMAT will open a second manufacturing facility in Ohatchee, AL in the summer of 2018. In addition to the two locations and the MAWP acquisition, Mid-Atlantic Wood Products will become the exclusive processor for CEF-Custom Educational Furnishings, a sister company acquired in 2014 that designs, manufactures, and assembles educational furniture into the PK-14 education sector.
